Well,, things have moved on a bit since I first started exploring the Ripper case,, on-line,, there is much more information available today and my knowledge and understanding has improved,, without much guidance or help from others I might add... One common mistake is to underestimate or dismiss things,, because of distrust in this instance... The above handwriting purports to be John Humbles letter to Noel O'Gara.. Im sure it needs no further introduction to folks with an interest,, I have always distrusted it because it is the only sample of Humbles handwriting posted anywhere,, I believe it is a fake,, not even Humbles handwriting at all... Not a very good fake either,, I thought.. Superficially, it appears quite different from the Ripper letters,, and Noel has made much noise about it not having any similarity in the press or on-line,, his website etc,, I have said the same thing myself... BUT,, I discovered quite recently that this letter has a lot more going for it than I at first thought,, it is only since I noticed for myself that the Ripper letters were disguised,, and that therefore,, their must be an underlying,, undisguised,, writing style of the writer,, one that has not officially been made known.. One that can just be detected and intelligently reasoned to be so by close examination of the letters and the envelopes they arrived in.. I looked again at Noels letter,, and find myself impressed by the counterfeiters close approximation of the writers true hand... See next image..
